- I'd like to say I swim for exercise but that implies that I swim enough to actually be in shape. I swim because I hurt. I have multiple medical conditions that cause pain, but when I am in the water, I can move freely. Nothing compares to the ability to spend time virtually pain free, just relaxing in the water.
